Dear BHS Band Families,

Twice yearly, we have two musical competitions: the Brandywine Jazz Festival and the T.O.B. Marching Band Classic. Both are wonderful events that promote Brandywine High School and earn recognition for its bands.

The 2010 Brandywine Jazz Festival takes place Friday, March 19^th at 6:30pm. The T.O.B. Marching Band Classic is held in the fall. A very important way that you can support the Band programs at Brandywine High School is by selling ads for the Program Book which is available to all attendees.

To help you, each family receives: a copy of the letter to the community explaining the opportunity, an advertising reservation form which explains available ad sizes and a patron listings page. You are asked to sell 2 ads, but are welcomed to sell more. If each band family sells 2 ads (of any size), imagine how much money we can raise!

ASK EVERYONE: Your dentist, orthodontist, employer, salon, dance/karate studio, dry cleaner, jeweler, teachers, friends, family members, family vet, realtor, car dealer, auto repair shop and doctor. You are their customers. They will happily support your student(s).

The pre-written letter will make the job of asking for ad support easy. Just sign it and deliver it with a friendly smile or use it as a guide in explaining the advertising opportunity to friends, family and local businesses.

Please be sure that the letters and contracts are signed by the Band Member, so we can trace the sale back to you.

You are welcome to contact me if you have nay questions about the ad sizes or how to handle the ad material.

Remember that nearly every business in the community advertises for customers already. This won’t be something new to them. They can use their business cards, email a current ad, or we can design something from whatever they give you as their message.

The selling efforts of each band member are greatly appreciated by all of the band members at Brandywine High School. Thank you for taking the time to support your school’s band music programs.

Start your sales right away. The deadline is Friday, March 5^th, it will come up fast. Ads can be given to Mr. Satcher in the BHS band room or mailed/emailed to myself at 108 Nevada Avenue, Wilmington, DE 19803.
